Plan Your Visit Today!

The reserve is open May - November yearly. We may have open days in the off-season, weather and accessibility dependent, so please check our website if you want to visit.

The Reserve is perched at an elevation of 3,400 feet above the Touchet River Valley, between Dayton and Waitsburg in the southeast corner of Washington State, 12 miles from the Oregon border and 40 miles from the Idaho border. Note that its higher elevation and forested terrain offer a welcome respite from Eastern Washington’s dry summer heat, with temperatures typically 10-15ºF cooler than the Columbia Basin.

Directions to the reserve and hiking maps will be emailed to you after a pass or membership is purchased. Please print out the trail map or keep it on your smart phone.

Before your visit, please familiarize yourself with our Rules and Regulations, and please either print your parking pass (which you will receive shortly after purchasing a pass) to display on your vehicle’s dashboard or have it ready to show on your mobile device. We look forward to hosting you soon!

Note: We use Zeffy for payments, and they add a 15% tip for themselves which you can modify as low as 0% at checkout using the dropdown.

A note for winter campers: Portable sanitary services are unavailable during the winter and will resume on April 15, 2025. For more information on proper waste disposal, visit Leave No Trace Principles. We appreciate your understanding and invite you to embrace the season’s tranquility.
