Bliss for runners, hikers, and cross country skiers
Jasper Mountain Reserve offers miles of meticulously crafted mountain trails for hikers and runners of all abilities organized into three trail loops. Join our community and become a steward of nature to ensure our trail system endures for generations!
For Hobbyists and Pros
For runners, we organize trail relay events and trail half & full marathons, with proceeds directly benefiting the nature reserve and trail infrastructure. Annual passes, race dues, and private donations are all collected in full compliance with the Reserve's non-profit status.
Trailhead Access
For non-race days
The trailhead for all three trail loops is in the ‘Parking and Trailhead’ area on the west side of Payne Hollow Road. Drive through the clearly marked double gates and proceed uphill on the gravel road. You can angle-park your vehicle along this uphill gravel road that leads to the trailhead, located about a hundred yards inside the gate. During the hiking and running season, the gate may be closed but not locked. Please let yourself in and close it upon your departure, especially if you are the last vehicle leaving for the day.
For trail race days
Race participants should angle-park their vehicles along the uphill gravel road leading to the trailhead as on non-race days. The START/FINISH and RELAY EXCHANGE line is on the east side of Payne Hollow Road at an elevation of 3,330 feet above sea level. The gate for the driveway leading downhill to this area is locked at all times, except on race days. This area is located about 0.2 miles from the parking area and campsite of Jasper Mountain Reserve, both of which are on the west side of Payne Hollow Road.
