Rules and Regulations for Visiting Jasper Mountain Reserve

We kindly ask that you follow these guidelines during your visit. 

Trail Waiver & Access: 

Gate Etiquette & Parking: 

  • Close the gate upon entry and exit. 

  • Angle-park on either side of the road inside the gate, ensuring gate remains unblocked. 

  • Please ensure that your trail pass receipt is clearly visible in the car. 

Trail Etiquette: 

  • Stay on marked trails at all times.

Conservation Efforts & Closures: 

  • The Reserve leases this privately owned land to oversee and maintain the trail system within the Reserve but also to undertake vital efforts in restoring and enhancing ecologically significant habitats while monitoring wildlife and plant populations. We kindly request that you honor any "Private Property - Do Not Enter" signs. 

  • At times, specific sections of the trails may be temporarily closed either for maintenance or due to the presence of endangered bird species nesting nearby. We urge you to adhere to these closures without exception. 

Pet Policy: 

  • Keep dogs leashed at all times. Horses are not allowed on the trails within the Reserve. 

Noise & Atmosphere: 

  • Maintain a serene environment; excessive noise disturbs wildlife and fellow hikers. 

Supplies & Off-Grid Operation: 

  • Please remember to bring an ample supply of water and food with you, as the Reserve operates off the grid. There are no facilities that offer water or electricity. 

  • There is no weekly garbage and recycling collection service at the Reserve. Please collect all trash and take it with you when you depart.

Restrictions: 

  • No mountain bikes, ATVs, horseback riding, or hunting allowed. 

Environmental Protection: 

  • Foraging, wildflower collection, and habitat alteration are strictly forbidden. 

Fire Regulations: 

  • Open fires and charcoal grills permitted only in designated areas at the camp site. Note seasonal fire restrictions. (i.e. no fires allowed between July 1st and September 30th) 

Camping Restrictions: 

  • Camping is limited to 5 consecutive nights and no more than 8 nights in any given month

  • RVs and campers longer than 20 feet are not allowed
